Required price = (consumed unit cost + target contribution + fixed processing per total dispensed unit) / (1 − commission rate − card share × processing rate). Fixed processing per unit = card share × fee per card transaction / items per card transaction. The entered card share assumes the same average price and items/transaction for the modeled product.
With the default packaged cost, $0.80 target contribution and default fees, the unrounded price is about $1.918181 and the price rounded upward to $0.05 is $1.95. Contribution at that price is about $0.827873. A negative target contribution can produce a nonnegative price floor of zero; negative customer prices are not proposed. If percentage charges retain no positive share of price, the result states “No finite price.”
The tool does not predict how demand changes after a price change or include collected sales tax. Re-test actual demand and route coverage in the profit tool.

Continue with a practical guide
- How do sales by slot determine a vending refill schedule?
Use a completed slot inventory table to compare weekly and twice-weekly replenishment, with demand and saleable stock kept separate.
- When does another machine make a route less efficient?
Compare incremental contribution, extra driving and an eight-hour route schedule before accepting a third placement.
