Opening cash is counted once

Base opening uses = equipment + installation/delivery/tax + refundable deposits + initial inventory + pre-opening expenses. Contingency applies to that subtotal. Opening cash = the cumulative operating cash shortfall you want to cover + a minimum cash floor. The tool does not estimate that cash shortfall from operating profit.

Defaults total $17,500 base uses, $1,750 contingency and $4,000 opening cash, so gross funding need is $23,250. With $10,000 equipment financing and $10,000 equity, the gap is $3,250. Financing is a source of cash, not revenue or a reduction in the equipment’s recorded cost. In this scenario, equipment financing may not exceed equipment plus installation.

Equipment, deposits and inventory are distinct from expenses; the categories are funding uses, not a P&L. No monthly cash schedule, loan amortization, income tax or acquisition valuation is generated.
